The Immigrant Liberation Movement is a coalition led by and for immigrants and undocumented people that builds leadership and community power through education, community organizing, legal defense, and direct action to build an independent mass movement capable of eradicating the inhumane immigration system.
ILM was co-founded by various grassroots and community-based groups in the Fall of 2016. They envision a world where all immigrants are free to move, treated equitably and justly, and where full rights are respected by all. They envision a world where the dignity of all people, especially those most vulnerable, is upheld, and where all people are artisans of their own destiny, empowered to realize their human potential in all aspects of life.
They partner with local community groups to offer Community Defense Trainings (Know Your Rights) and Solidarity Trainings (Legal Observer) in the surrounding Bay Area. The trainings are developed to strengthen the communities' understanding of immigration enforcement and their ability to protect one another against ICE enforcement.
