Amy Hutto

Amy Hutto has been working with her hands ever since adolescence when her father first drafted her to help make home repairs, tend the family garden and fix cars. She has worked in the building trades, mostly as an electrician, for 35 years.  She is continuously heart broken by the depth of the capitalistic nightmare that we are living in and is often uncertain about how to proceed as a human, except to keep trudging a path of unlearning racism and decolonization. She relies heavily on Buddhist teachings for inspiration and does her best to maintain a mediation practice. Amy dreams of living in a mud hut with no electricity and using direct mechanical power (pedal power for example) for such things as pumping water or driving tools.
