Carmen Aceves-IñiguezCarmen Aceves-Iñiguez, LMFT, CPC (she/her/ella) is a Queer, cisgender, Xicana/Latinx, first gen, bilingual femme. She is a licensed psychotherapist, Certified Life & Leadership Coach, social justice, systems change strategist, and consultant.
Carmen was trained as a community organizer at the age of 14 in her hometown of Wilmington, CA, by the Labor/Community Strategy Center’s (LCSC) National School for Strategic Organizing. Since then, she’s worked and supported social and racial justice causes throughout California and across the nation that have focused on community and youth organizing, public policy reform, legislation, labor, immigration, and LGBTQ rights. With nearly 30 years of experience working for social justice as an organizer, facilitator, and convener of diverse communities of color, in her work, she provides a unique perspective on the intersections and impact of oppression. Carmen believes that social justice and systems change work is lifetime work, and as such it requires a parallel commitment to individual healing, growth, and self-development. She is passionate about working with women, queer, trans people of color, and social justice warriors. As a Certified Professional Coach (CPC), Carmen enjoys supporting the transformation of individuals and organizations. Whether it is stepping into power, finding a rhythm between work and self-care, a career change, or a life transition, Carmen’s coaching supports her clients to thrive by gaining increased awareness of real and perceived blocks, overcoming self-limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging behaviors, with unwavering support, accountability, humor, and joy. Carmen received her graduate degree from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and holds a B.A. in Communication Studies and Spanish Literature from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). As a National Hispana Leadership Institute (NHLI) ALL IN (Advancing Latina Leaders in Non-Profits) inaugural fellow, Carmen earned a certificate in Management Training from Georgetown University. |
