Maria Moore

Maria Moore is the sister of Kayla Moore, a black, transgender, mentally disabled woman who was killed by Berkeley Police when friends called for a mental health evaluation. 

She is an advocate for woman of color who have been killed and terrorized by police violence, and works closely with Berkeley Cop Watch, which started the Justice for Kayla Moore coalition.

Maria has been a member of the African American Policy Forum, #Say Her Name campaign, since 2014. She was born and raised in Berkeley, CA, and graduated from UC Berkeley in 1995.
