Michael Sebastian

Michael is the former co-chair of Political Education in East Bay Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). 

Born and raised in Oakland California, and growing up in a single parent household in a mostly segregated part of Oakland, Michael became politically active around 2016 when Bernie ran for president since much of Bernie’s platform reflected what he experienced growing up in a poor neighborhood. 

Michael is looking forward to offering a workshop for Creating Freedom Movements on Capitalism and Classism, with emphasis on the intersections with race and gender.
