Practical Skills
This area is all about developing the practical skills that can help us divest from oppressive systems and institutions by building/investing in alternative ones and developing skills to take care of ourselves and each other. We will have workshops on:
- community organizing
- building black power through local electoral politics
- earth skills (growing our own food in community, permaculture principles, greywater systems)
- basic handy-person skills
- "know your rights" training and ICE defense
- basic street medic skills
- nonviolent direct action training
- circle work and restorative justice processes
- copwatch training
- basic bike repair and maintenance
- building community-based economies through local cooperative businesses
- participatory action research
- basic self-defense
- how to reduce reliance on the police
- how to fund our justice work
- facilitation skills
- digital security
